Home by Spring: On Location

Hallmark hired me to Field Produce this behind the scenes video for their 2018 film, Home by Spring.  I had such a great time producing this piece because the Cast and Crew were so much fun to work with.

CURE VIOLENCE

This documentary follows a group of "violence interrupters" who treat gang violence as an epidemic and work directly with the victims to effect immediate change.  The team filmed in some of the more dangerous neighborhoods in Chicago, Philadelphia and Puerto Rico.  While setting up the shoot, I remember having a very long conversation about risk and liability.  And there was a whole afternoon spent hunting down kevlar vests for the team.  Luckily for us, the crew survived physically unscathed, but their memories of the incredible stories they witnessed will always be a reminder of the need for change in the world.

Cure Violence works to stop the spread of violence by treating it as a health epidemic. Told in three locations, the film profiles the people working on the ground to implement the Cure Violence model within communities. PIVOT ON THE STREET - LONG BEACH PRIDE

Here's a secret, I love field producing man on the street videos.  You never know what you are going to get and sometimes the challenge lies in finding viable interviews.  The days can be long, but they are never boring.

THE BALLOONIST

This video was written and directed by the incredibly talented Chris Osbrink (I'll admit I'm a bit biased because he is one of my best friends).  It's pretty funny and of all the videos we've worked on together it is my absolute favorite.
